VideoFrenzel Video-oculography
VideoFrenzel is a simple and accurate device for eye movements observation in comparison with well-known Frenzel goggles. VideoFrenzel consists of a mask with 2 infrared cameras, connected to a laptop via USB.
The eyes are displayed on the monitor in an enlarged size. The mask has a soft foam pad, which fits snugly and softly against a patient’s face, ensuring stability of the image yet remain comfortable at the same time. VideoFrenzel can be used in all standard vestibular tests: spontaneous nystagmus, gaze fixation nystagmus, saccades, smooth pursuit, positional and positioning tests, etc. Tests can easily be performed without visual fixation, such as head shaking test and test of spontaneous nystagmus with vision denied, as the cover perfectly fits the mask and provides total darkness for the patient. VideoFrenzel makes it easy to record eye movements and the image of the situation camera at the same time, which is extremely useful in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with benign paroxysmal positional vertigo.
VideoFrenzel is extremely helpful in diagnosing and treating problems of the vestibular system, and post-concussion syndrome. It is particularly helpful when treating patients with benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV).
